A Study on the Free Play Behaviours of Preschoolers

Abstract

|
This study exmined the effects of sex, age, parent education levels and the size of family on preschooler’s social participation. Subjects were 56 preschoolers at the kindergarten of the Daegu Junior College in Daegu. The instrument was used in observational check list. The result indicated thataboys engaged in significantly less unoccupied behavior and cooperative play, and more associative play than did girls. But there were not significant difference between boys and girls in total social participation score. And also it was found that social participation increased with age. On the other hand there were not significant relationship between family size, parent education levels and social participation score of preschoolers.
